Auditions for next season will be in March

We have decided to skip February for a variety of reasons.  Most importantly it will put us on a consistent schedule round these parts.  Stay tuned as next month the judges have a few posts planned.  :)  Then the first week of March YOU can audition for next season...can't wait!

The finals for this season will be posted on Tuesday and you can vote for your favorite!  This season has been amazing and I can't wait to see who wins this thing!

Get to Know Your Judges-Gina with The Shabby Creek Cottage

Gina from the Shabby Creek Cottage is one of our resident judges. She makes some beautiful things over in her etsy shop. These are her answers to the same three questions we asked Angie.

1) What is one tool you couldn't live without?

Hmm... my paint brush? Oh no... my sewing machine? Whew that's a hard one to call - flip a coin because it's one of those two, depending on the day!

2) Where do you craft?

Anywhere with an empty surface-from my kitchen table to a folding table in the backyard. :)

3) Who/what inspires you?

So many folks inspire me. Sarah Richardson is right up there as my fave of all time. I love scouring Pinterest... you never know what you'll find on there!

1) What is one tool you couldn't live without?

I would say it is definitely my hot glue gun.  The Country Chic Cottage is all about quick and easy crafts and home decor.  You simply MUST have a hot glue gun for quick, easy crafts!

2) Where do you craft?

 

My closet...ha!!  I have a large walk in closet and part of it is dedicated to my crafting.  Otherwise I am in the floor or kitchen table.  I lead an exciting life huh??

 

3) Who/what inspires you?

 

I use Pinterest for a lot of my inspiration.  I describe it as google image search on steroids.  It is perfect for inspiring me and helping me to think outside of the box.  One example of a project that was inspired from Pinterest is my grain sack upholstered stool...

Auditions start Monday!!

Get your crafts ready to link up next week!  Auditions will run from Monday to Saturday!  Ten contestants will be choosen by the judges and two more will be choosen via randomizer.org!  ANYONE can win this competition!  We have some amazing prizes lined up!!  Stay tuned for all the details on those next week!  Hope to see you at the auditions on Monday!!

Audition Changes and Rules

A few changes are in the works around here!  So let's talk auditions!  The biggest change is that now the auditions will happen RIGHT HERE on the OMTWI blog!  The next audition day is Monday October 3rd so y'all get your projects ready!  This audition will be for the competition that happens the month of November.  So we will be competing every OTHER month instead of every month as it was before.  A full list of rules can be found anytime on our auditions page...but lets review them just so you can refresh your memory!

Audition Rules:
1)  Link up any one post that shows your crafting talent.  Any post is acceptable -- there are no themes for the auditions.
2)  Post must be recent -- within the past thirty days.
3)  Please use the OMTWI button in your blog post or sidebar.  Or use a text link to OMTWI in your post.  Please note: this is mandatory!
4)  Follow the OMTWI blog via Google Friend Connect or by subscribing to our RSS feed.
5)  Only one link up per person please.
6)  Please make sure your email address is on your blog.  This is the only way we have to contact you! 
7)  You must not have competed in a season of OMTWI before!  If you have been choosen as the top 12 to compete, please do not link up an audition post.  However, if you are a co-contributor to the same blog, a different person (same blog) will be allowed to compete. 
8)  Please note that the audition is to compete for the next month.  You must be able to compete the next month!

  

10 contestants are choosen via the audition process.  The other TWO contestants are choosen from the audition link up via RANDOMIZER.org!  Literally ANYONE can win this competition!  Yes now there will be TWO contestants choosen via RANDOMIZER!!  So that increases YOUR chance to be choosen to compete!

Welcome to One Month To Win It! 
Are you ready to make the cut? 

One Month To Win It is the monthly crafting competition that anyone can win! 

Ready to audition?  You can always check out our audition schedule for the next audition time and place.  This month the audition will be held on The Country Chic Cottage beginning February 9th!  Get your projects ready to link!



The judges will pick 11 contestants from the auditions.  The 12th contestant (aka The Wild Card) will be choosen via randomizer.org.  Yes, literally ANYONE can win this competition!   Contestants will be notified via email and given the challenges for the month. 

Each week three contestants are voted out.  Half the score will come from an open poll on One Month To Win It.  The other half of the score will come from the judges. 

The schedule:

Week 1

• Monday -- challenge entries for the 12 contestants are posted
• Monday to Wednesday -- vote for your favorite project in an open poll
• Friday -- 9 remaining contestants are announced

Week 2   

• Monday -- challenge entries for the 9 remaining contestants are posted
• Monday to Wednesday -- vote for your favorite project in an open poll
• Friday -- 6 remaining contestants are announced
• Look for the audition for the next season during week 2!!

Week 3

• Monday -- challenge entries for the 6 remaining contestants are posted
• Monday to Wednesday -- vote for your favorite project in an open poll
• Friday -- 3 finalists are announced

Week 4

• Monday -- challenge entries for the 3 remaining contestants are posted
• Monday to Wednesday -- vote for your favorite project in an open poll
• Friday -- winners are announced!!
